What is BlueSwab?

BlueSwab is a drive through and walk through RT-PCR testing facility specifically for testing the SARS-CoV-2 virus, which causes the COVID-19 disease.

What is the RT-PCR test? How reliable is it?

The RT-PCR test is referred to as the “gold standard” when it comes to testing for the SARS-CoV-2 virus (the causative agent of COVID-19).

Who runs BlueSwab?

BlueSwab is a service of the Ateneo Molecular Pathology Laboratory (AMPLify). AMPLify is part of Ateneo de Manila University's response to the nation's call for more diagnostic facilities to help ramp up testing capacity as one way to fight the pandemic caused by the SARS-CoV-2 and all other notifiable infectious diseases.

Who can avail of the BlueSwab service?

The BlueSwab service is available to the public.

For what purposes can I use the test results?

The test results can be used for medical, employment, and travel requirements.


How do I avail of the BlueSwab service?

You can avail of the service in three easy steps:

Book. Book and pay for an appointment at least one day before the preferred date of swabbing, by visiting Once booked, you will receive an email confirming your appointment, as well as reminders about what to do before the swabbing.

Swab. On the day of your appointment, proceed to the swabbing venue. Please enter via Ateneo Loyola Heights campus's Gate 2 (gate across Starbucks Katipunan, near pedestrian overpass). For drive-through appointments, the security guards will direct you to the Drive Through tents. For walk-through clients, you can enter via Gate 2.5 (beside the overpass) and the security guards will direct you to the designated swabbing booths.

The entire process is estimated to take up to 15 minutes, but be there at least 10 minutes before your schedule. There will be waiting areas provided. Please bring a valid ID.

Get Results. Your test results will be emailed to the email address you used to register for your appointment. Results will be available the same day for tests done on weekdays (Monday to Friday), while results for tests conducted on Sunday will be released Monday evening.

How many swabs can BlueSwab conduct in a day?

Blue Swab can accommodate a maximum of 40 swabs per day.


How much is the test?

The test is priced at:

  • Php 2,700* for specimen collection done on weekdays (Mondays to Fridays)

  • Php 2,500 for tests done on Sundays

How do I pay for my test?

Payment is made through bank transfer through the booking portal.

Are there discounts /special rates/subsidies available for Ateneo de Manila employees?

Yes. Ateneo employees have special rates or subsidies applicable. Please get in touch with the Office of Human Resource Management and Organization Development (OHRMOD) for details.

Do you have group/corporate discounts?

What do I need to do before and during the appointment?

Please do not drink, eat, gargle, or brush teeth 30 minutes before the scheduled swabbing as it may affect the validity and accuracy of the test.

At the swabbing venue, please strictly observe safety protocols. AMPLify and Ateneo staff will be there to implement safety protocols.

What do I need to bring to my appointment?

Please bring a valid ID.

How and when will I get my test results?

Your test results will be sent to the email address you used to register for your appointment.

The results will be available on the same day if you were swabbed on a weekday. If you were swabbed on a Sunday, you will receive your result on Monday evening.


Where is the BlueSwab swabbing venue?

The swabbing facility is at the Loyola Heights, Quezon City campus of Ateneo de Manila University.

Can walk-ins be accommodated?

We are sorry but walk-ins cannot be accommodated. Only those with scheduled appointments can avail of the service.

When is the BlueSwab service available?

It is available from 7am to 12nn Monday to Friday, and 1 to 5pm on Sunday.
